HOW BLOCKCHAIN IS RESOLVING THE COVID-19 CRISIS ?

Today we are going to discuss the different applications of the blockchain to solve the COVID-19 crisis:

More contagious than the virus itself, the fakes news multiply with the evolution of the coronavirus. This automatically creates an atmosphere of anxiety. The blockchain is a remedy against this virus of misinformation. In Italy, ANSA , a very influential news agency, has contracted EY Advisory S.P.A. which, thanks to its blockchain technology, has developed an application that allows the verification of the sources of the information and whether it comes from ANSA. The transparency offered by the blockchain is a good way to stem the spread of fake news.

In the United Arab Emirates, the blockchain technology allows for a lighter administrative burden. The Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) « has for more than a year initiated the authentication of «to whom it may concern» certificates and other documents electronically through blockchain technology. It now authenticates some 2,919 documents through blockchain; […].» This prevents users from leaving their homes.

In China, AliPay has developed in close collaboration with the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission and the Department of Economy and Information Technology a blockchain-based platform that allows users to track the demand and distribution of medical equipment. This platform also allows them to record the tracking of prevention equipment such as masks, gloves and other protective equipment.

There are even more applications of the blockchain against this health crisis: verification of COVID-19 Data, creation or recollection of cryptography for donations … and this further strengthens its implementation in the global market.
